Troubleshooting
Quick fixes for the most common issues.
The mic won't start
- Grant the browser microphone permission when prompted.
- Check the right device is selected in Settings → Audio and the level meter responds.
- If you see a "Free plan limit reached" message, you've used your weekly transcription allowance — it resets each Sunday, or upgrade to Pro for unlimited.
Verses aren't being detected
- Confirm the mic is live (the level meter moves) and the connection indicator is green.
- Speak a full phrase or a clear reference — very short fragments may not match.
- In Manual mode, detections appear as candidates to approve, not on the live screen — check the staging area.
External Display or NDI is missing
- Both require the desktop app — the browser has no access to a second monitor or to NDI.
- External Display also needs a second screen connected; with only one, there is nothing to project onto.
- NDI additionally needs a Pro licence and the NDI runtime on the machine; otherwise use the OBS + DistroAV fallback.
License says "not valid"
- Re-copy the key exactly — it's four groups of five characters. The field trims spaces and fixes case for you.
- If it still fails, confirm your subscription is active and the key isn't already active on another device — deactivate it there first (Settings → License).
Can't reach the server
- Check your internet connection — transcription and activation need the backend.
- An already-activated Pro licence keeps working offline during a service.
