How to show Bible verses on your church livestream in OBS
Online viewers can’t see the projector. A verse lower third over the camera gives them the scripture too — and with a browser source in OBS it updates on its own.
What you get
A transparent overlay: just the verse and reference over your camera shot, with no background box covering the pastor. When a new verse goes live in Scrivent, the overlay changes on the stream too. When the screen is cleared, it disappears.
Add the overlay in OBS
- In Scrivent, open Settings → Broadcast and choose Browser / OBS. Copy the Livestream Overlay link.
- In OBS, in the scene with your camera, click + under Sources and choose Browser.
- Paste the link as the URL. Set width 1920 and height 1080 (or your stream’s canvas size).
- Make sure the browser source sits above the camera in the source list.
- Push a verse in Scrivent and check it appears over the camera in OBS.
The overlay works on every account, with Scrivent running in a browser — no desktop app needed. The same link works in Streamlabs and other tools that accept a browser source.
Using vMix, TriCaster or an NDI setup?
The Scrivent Windows app can send the output as an NDI source on your network for vision mixers. Or add the browser source in OBS and use the free DistroAV plugin to turn OBS’s output into NDI.
Projector and livestream at the same time
You don’t have to choose. The projector shows the full-screen verse for the room while OBS shows the lower third for online viewers — both follow the same live verse.
