An EasyWorship alternative for scripture: automatic Bible verses for your church

EasyWorship and ProPresenter are excellent presentation programs. But for scripture during the sermon, they still depend on someone typing every reference the moment it is spoken. That is the part Scrivent replaces.

The gap in presentation software

Presentation software is built around a prepared running order: songs, announcements, the planned reading. The sermon is the one part of the service nobody can fully prepare. When the pastor quotes Psalm 91, then Isaiah 54:17, then something he half-remembers from Hebrews, the operator has to hear it, find it and push it — live, with the congregation watching.

What Scrivent does differently

Scrivent listens to the sermon and puts the verse up itself. It catches spoken references, verses quoted word for word and close paraphrases, and works out the right verse even when the preacher never says the chapter. The operator can let it run (Auto) or approve each verse with one key (Manual).

Keep EasyWorship for songs — add Scrivent for the sermon

You don’t have to switch everything. Many churches keep their existing software for worship lyrics and slides, and run Scrivent for the sermon:

  • On the projector: Scrivent’s display opens full screen on the second monitor when the sermon starts.
  • On the livestream: add Scrivent as a transparent browser source in OBS, so verses appear as a lower third over the camera.
  • With a vision mixer: the Windows app can send an NDI feed to vMix, TriCaster or OBS.

Side by side

  • Scripture during the sermon — typed by an operator in presentation software; detected from the preacher’s voice in Scrivent.
  • Song lyrics and slides — presentation software’s strength; Scrivent shows scripture and sermon slides, not songs.
  • After the service — Scrivent also keeps the transcript, drafts a recap page and finds short audio clips to share on WhatsApp.
  • Cost — Scrivent is currently free for every church.
  • Bible languages — 18 English translations, with Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Twi, Swahili, French and 10 more languages shown under the English verse.

Try it next Sunday

Create a free account, plug the pastor’s mic feed into the laptop, and run it next to your current setup in Manual mode. You decide what goes on screen; Scrivent just stops you from typing.
