How to share your Sunday sermon on WhatsApp
On Sunday afternoon your members are already on WhatsApp. A sermon they can forward reaches the family member who missed service — and the friend who has never been.
What people actually forward
A two-hour recording rarely gets watched. What travels on WhatsApp is short: a 30-second clip of the strongest moment, or a single link with the main points. Scrivent makes both from the sermon it already listened to.
The sermon recap page
After the service, Scrivent drafts a recap from the transcript. You review it and share one link. The page has:
- The message — a short summary of the sermon.
- From the pulpit — memorable lines, checked word for word against what was actually said.
- Scriptures — every verse that went on screen.
- To reflect on this week — questions for personal study or a home cell.
The link shows a proper preview card when pasted into WhatsApp, so it looks like something worth opening.
Sermon clips
Scrivent also records the sermon audio and suggests the strongest moments, around half a minute each. You can trim them, cut and join pieces, and share each one as a link with the audio and a quote card. Members can play it straight from the chat.
How to do it after service
- Keep the mic running in Scrivent for the whole sermon — the recap and clips are made from what it heard.
- When the service is over, the console offers Prepare recap & clips. Press it.
- Read the draft, fix anything you want, and share the recap link.
- Pick a clip or two, trim if needed, and share those too.
- Post them in the church WhatsApp group and on your status.
Past sermons stay searchable: find the Sunday a topic was preached, listen from that moment, and make a clip from an older service.
