Church projection software for Nigerian churches
Most church projection software is built for a quiet American service with a planned running order. Nigerian services move differently — and the software should keep up.
What makes a Nigerian service different
- The sermon moves fast. A pastor can quote ten verses in five minutes, often from memory and often without giving the chapter.
- Accents. Speech recognition trained mostly on American voices misses Nigerian English. It needs to be tuned for how our pastors actually speak.
- More than one language. Many congregations read in Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa as well as English.
- Power and data. NEPA takes light, the generator comes on, the hotspot drops. Software must recover by itself.
- Small media teams. Often one volunteer runs the screens, the livestream and the slides together.
How Scrivent fits
- Verses appear automatically as the pastor preaches — references, exact quotes and paraphrases — so the one volunteer is not typing all service.
- Tuned for Nigerian and African accents, with a voice leveller that copes with quiet microphones.
- Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa under the English on the same screen, with fonts that show every letter and tone mark.
- Recovers from dropped connections on its own and catches up; the Windows app can also run fully offline.
- WhatsApp-ready recaps and clips after service, for members and for people who missed it.
- Prayer and devotional slides: paste the prayer points or the day’s devotional and get one clean slide each.
What it costs
Scrivent is free for every church at the moment — no card, no naira or dollar subscription. If paid plans come later, churches will be told well in advance.
What you need to start
A laptop, a projector or TV, and the pastor’s microphone feed from the mixer — see how to connect it. Phone data from a hotspot is enough for the internet.
